Manhattan has life, energy and activity you won’t find anywhere else. On top of that, it’s brimming with amazing remote working hubs for freelancers, professionals and entrepreneurs like you.

However, telecommuting can be challenging at times, especially for those working from their own homes. Many struggle to balance work and household needs, while the sense of isolation can leave others feeling lonely and unmotivated.

If you can relate to these sentiments, you’ll be delighted to know that Manhattan is teeming with inspiring spaces for remote workers like you. Check out these productivity hubs and see if you can find a good fit!

The Rose Main Reading Room (New York Public Library)

Let’s start off this list with the Rose Main Reading Room, one of the most iconic spots in Manhattan for both students and working professionals.

This Beaux Arts-style library is the perfect place to be if you love working in total silence. Here you’ll find a peaceful atmosphere and a quick escape from ringing phones, noisy crowds and other kinds of distractions. Get ready to be transported to a different time by its majestic vibe, high ceilings, grand arched windows and striking chandeliers.

Note: Eating, drinking and taking phone calls while inside the Reading Room are prohibited.

Bryant Park

If you need to wait in a long line to get inside the Reading Room, you can consider finding a spot at Bryant Park instead. Known as Manhattan’s Town Square, this busy public space boasts lush seasonal gardens, alfresco dining and numerous free activities. But it doesn’t stop there.

Bryant Park can also be a refreshing place to work, especially for those who’d love to get some fresh air as they tackle their tasks for the day. It offers internet connection, some tables and shade, so you’re sure to find a spot to settle down here, work on your report and be inspired by the surrounding views.

Kindred

Located at 342 E 6th Street, Kindred is another wonderful outdoor spot to consider for your next grind time.

Its owners launched an initiative called “Work From Kindred” in September 2020, where they renovated the restaurant’s back-to-back patios and opened it to remote workers. Now, their outdoor dining area is outfitted with 19 tables, complete with charging stations and internet access. They also serve unlimited coffee, cold brew and tea.

You can exclusively reserve a table for $25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesdays through Fridays. Then, if you’d like to reward yourself at the end of your workday, you can stay for their Happy Hour from 5-6 p.m.

Ground Central Coffee Company

If working while surrounded by a rich coffee aroma is more right up your alley, Ground Central Coffee is worth checking out.

This library-like cafe in Midtown Manhattan is a cozy and welcoming place for remote workers, freelancers and entrepreneurs, as well as musicians and artists. It boasts a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, spacious interior and comfortable chairs and couches. Best of all, their friendly baristas serve great coffee within minutes, no matter how busy the cafe can get!

Spring Place

Spring Place is a coworking space worth considering if you want to take your work nook up a notch. This luxurious and innovative shared workplace boasts spaces that inspire and foster your creativity and connect you with other professionals and entrepreneurs.

Their local membership plan starts at $750 per month and gives you access to various amenities like shared coworking spaces, phone booths, meeting rooms, social club spaces and bar & lounge. The best part is the rooftop terrace that’s perfect for those who wish to relish the outdoors as they work.

The Yard: Herald Square

If you draw energy from the hustle and bustle of New York City, you might find a perfect fit in Herald Square. Located right at the heart of Midtown Manhattan, this vibrant coworking space has everything you need to get work done: private offices, shared workspaces, conference rooms and high-speed WiFi.

On top of that, Herald Square offers its members a thoughtfully designed interior: 22-feet floor-to-ceiling windows, ergonomic furniture, a contemporary aesthetic and a stunning view of the Empire State Building. Its dedicated desks are available for $600 per month.

Enjoy Working Remotely at These Productivity Hubs in Manhattan

Remote working can be exciting for freelancers, entrepreneurs and digital marketing experts in Manhattan. Aside from having that flexibility to accommodate both work and personal life, it helps professionals reduce travel costs and work from where they feel most efficient.

If you’ve grown weary of working from your home or need a place where you can concentrate on your tasks, we hope this list helps you find the best remote working solution for your needs and lifestyle.
