Welcome to our new series, Meet the Thrivers! We’d love for you to get to know us better, so we’ll be posting interviews with all the Thrivers here on our blog.
To kick things off, meet Brent!
Name: Brent Nau
Role at Thrive: Director of Operations
Location: Orlando, Florida
Family: Lesley, Andrew (Age 10)
Pets: A dog named, Barley. He is a Morkie (Half Maltese, half Yorkie)
When did you start at Thrive? I started with Thrive on April 29, 2013.
What are some of the things you love about being a Thriver? I really like having a boss that is open to new ideas and who actually cares for his employees. I would also add that as a remote company our employees are really connected on a personal level with each other.
What is your degree in? I have a double degree from the University of Central Florida. A Bachelor of Science, Liberal Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Management Information Systems.
If you could live anywhere on this planet and take everything that you love with you, where would you choose to live? This is a hard question. My wife would say London. As we had the opportunity to live there for a year and a half. If not there, probably Turks and Caicos. We have been to Turks and Caicos twice and it is a very short flight back to the U.S. (versus the 8 hours from London).
Are you a morning person or a night owl? Why? I would consider myself a morning person. With a 10 year old there is no sleeping in. He is sometimes up before me.
What is your absolute favorite meal? I would have to say filet mignon with side of au gratin potatoes.
What’s the worst, most disgusting vegetable? I would most likely turn my nose up at brussel sprouts. My wife loves to eat them, but they smell and taste horrible.
If you could choose any profession other than the one you have now, what would you choose? I would love to do some type of woodworking. I could see myself restoring an older home. I love to take things that are dilapidated and make them new again.
