Name/title: Emily Schreiber/CRO Manager
Home office: Minneapolis, Minn.
Family and pets: Do houseplants count?
Start date at Thrive: August 2018
How did you get started with Conversion Rate Optimization?
I started working in marketing right after college (not a clue what I was doing – I was an English major!) and really fell in love with the industry! I think I was pulled to CRO because I really enjoy the element of critical thinking and analysis around user behavior. I’ve also always been a huge data nerd (excel sheets are my life!), so combining research and statistics with creative and innovative ideas is just the dream.
What do you love about working for Thrive so far?
Aside from the obvious fact that working remotely means free membership to the #nopantsclub and getting to skip the morning commute, everyone is really genuine and truly cares about their work.
When you’re not at work, how do you spend your time?
Outside! I’m an avid backpacker and I love to travel, so I’m either up a mountain or on a lake (even if it’s a frozen one).
If you could turn anything into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance of winning a gold medal for?
Dropping my phone. It’s a real millennial sport these days.
What would be your karaoke go-to song and what setting would we likely find you singing it in?
Total Eclipse of the Heart and likely being removed from where I was attempting to sing it – I am truly tone-deaf.
Where did you grow up and what is special about that place?
I grew up in San Diego for the most part. It was great because you can get to the beach, the mountains or the desert in just a few hours. That helped shape my love for the outdoors and appreciation for how beautiful our little planet is.
If you were in a room with three billionaires, what would you ask them and why?
Can I borrow a yacht for the weekend?
If you could invite three people to dinner (dead or alive), who would be at the table and why?
Audrey Hepburn, Julie Andrews and Princess Diana. I feel like some of their glamour might rub off on me over the course of the evening.
