Name/title: Amber Warner, SEO Strategist
Home office: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Family and pets: Ryan, my husband, and two boys, Thomas (9 yrs) and Paul (6 yrs)
Start date at Thrive: 7/8/19
How did you get started with SEO?
I’ve been working on websites as a hobby since the late 90s, but completed college degrees in psychology and education. In those fields, I was focused on social science research. A couple years ago I decided “why not combine my hobby with my experience in research?” because SEO is more analytical, being SEO Strategist was a natural fit.
What do you love about working for Thrive so far?
My coworkers who are so genuine, friendly and great at what they do.
I love talking with business owners – I have a lot of respect for the passion they have for their business.
When you’re not at work, how do you spend your time?
1) Traveling with my family, my dream is to visit every National park in the US and I’ve been a good number of them. I am closest to the Black Hills National Forest and Badlands National Park in South Dakota.
2) Hiking, light rock scrambling. I love nature and hiking.
3) I really feel at home in a good coffee shop
4) I’ve taken up making candles at home
If you could turn anything into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance of winning a gold medal for?
Coffee drinking or eating Thai food.
What would be your karaoke go-to song and what setting would we likely find you singing it in?
Just to preface, you would never find me singing karaoke under normal circumstances. BUT if that were to happen I’m pulling something out of the 90s. “What’s up” by 4 Non-Blondes.
If you could be any character from any book or movie, who would you be?
Elle Woods, because Legally Blonde is the best rom-com ever! (and I’m not even a blonde). The character is strong, kind, and determined.
Where did you grow up and what is special about that place?
O’Fallon, IL. I grew up by Scott Air Force Base and close to St Louis Missouri.
If you were in a room with three billionaires, what would you ask them and why?
What are the biggest chances you took that paid off?
If you could invite three people to dinner (dead or alive), who would be at the table and why?
Theodore Roosevelt – An interesting leader who cared for protecting natural places.
John Muir – Because I’m a nature lover
Audrey Hepburn – An icon and she seemed to care about helping others.
