Ever wish you could ask whoever visited your website to like your business’ Facebook page? Well, the good folks at Facebook released a game-changing Facebook remarketing pixel that allows clients to target their ads specifically to people who have visited their website.
Although our current Facebook ad was already increasing audience, engagement, and reach for a lawyer-client of ours, we wanted to see how far this Facebook remarketing pixel could boost these metrics momentum. After reviewing the ads initial targeting, we made these tweaks:
- We carefully installed the Facebook tracking pixel script into the client’s website.
- While waiting on the pixel to create an audience to target, we untargeted vague audience criteria like “interests” and “behaviors”.
- We also created a “Lookalike Audience” to target the ad to people who were similar to the client’s current fans.
- Once our tracking pixel audience was ready, we set the ad to target the pixel audience and lookalike audiences in key areas.
When we made these adjustments in March, our client had a 3-month streak of the highest spikes of Facebook engagement all year! And our client’s referral traffic from their Facebook to their website increased by 132% from March-April!
