How did you get started with SEO?
I say this to clients all the time: I’m not sure anyone who does SEO thought they would end up in it when establishing a career. Most of us find our way via digital marketing or website development. For me, I had graduated from college looking for jobs in marketing and communications and was originally hired at an agency in a supportive roll. Thinking I would work in social media, I actually enjoyed the SEO work I was tasked with much more. Since then I’ve worked in a couple agencies in SEO and truly love agency life and client relationships.
What do you love about working for Thrive so far?
I think one of the coolest things about Thrive is due to the fact that we are a global company in terms of employees we have so much more opportunity to learn not only about digital marketing but also different cultures. It is completely unique to a work-from-home model and something I think is really beneficial to all of us.
When you’re not at work, how do you spend your time?
I’m a big creature of habit, which I think helps me in a lot of areas in life. When I’m not at work I am usually at the gym, walking my dog or working on projects around my new house. Home ownership is a job in itself!
If you could turn anything into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance of winning a gold medal for?
My answer to that question has always been sleeping! I am not a morning person or a night owl, I just like sleep. I’m the only toddler who would put herself to bed, and in my teens and early 20s I could easily sleep 12 hours straight. Unfortunately I think I’m losing my edge in this department. Now, I can barely sleep past 8 a.m. no matter the day of the week.
What would be your karaoke go-to song and what setting would we likely find you singing it in?
My go-to karaoke song is Country Road. However, most often you will probably hear me sing along to 80 percent of what’s on the radio in my car! Doesn’t matter who is in the car with me, I’m typically singing.
Where did you grow up and what is special about that place?
I grew up outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I haven’t been there since I left for college and my parents subsequently moved but I miss it, especially WaWa! My favorite part of that area is the history, and living in New England now also includes the same types of charms I grew up with, with the extra bonus of closer beaches!
If you were in a room with three billionaires, what would you ask them and why?
I might ask them for some money, haha. In all seriousness, I’d ask them simple things about what their favorite “free” activity/hobby is and how they give back.
If you could invite three people to dinner (dead or alive), who would be at the table and why?
Hmmmm. I feel like I should have a canned response to this one. Probably Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres and Jerry Seinfeld. I like to laugh : )
