Project Overview
A business media and market intelligence firm needed help recovering from serious website and SEO issues that were holding back performance. The site had been left in poor shape by a previous developer, creating technical problems that affected site functionality and membership flow. Organic visibility had declined, the website was not performing as it should and key user actions were difficult to track accurately.
Thrive Internet Marketing Agency stepped in to stabilize the site and resolve high-priority issues, including fixing technical SEO faults, reconnecting GA4, setting up event tracking and repairing broken integrations. The solutions included SEO support and a highly technical web project focused on repairing broken system connections between MemberPress, Zoho and Mailchimp.
As technical issues were addressed and the site was re-indexed, the client began to regain traffic and improve the user journey for subscriptions. This led to a 183% year-over-year increase in total traffic and a 343% year-over-year increase in organic traffic.

The Execution
Thrive approached this partnership with a combination of technical SEO repair, web development support and strategic guidance to help the client restore performance and rebuild a more stable digital foundation.
Search Engine Optimization
Thrive began by addressing the client’s most urgent technical SEO issues to help restore visibility and search performance. The team worked through broken links, 404 errors, broken images and H1 issues that were interfering with crawlability and user experience. Thrive also provided recommendations for the first 200 meta titles and meta descriptions to help strengthen on-page optimization across a large portion of the site.
Once the site was properly re-indexed, the client regained clearer insight into organic activity. To keep improvements manageable across a large, frequently updated website, the team also used AI and plugins to help streamline recurring technical fixes.
Web Development and Technical Support
Alongside SEO work, Thrive took on a highly technical web project to repair critical system connections. The web team overhauled broken integrations between MemberPress, Zoho and Mailchimp, which were affecting membership flow and content access.
Because the site architecture presented unexpected complications, Thrive worked directly with the third-party provider managing the client’s database to support a proper migration and ensure the correct contacts were transferred. This helped restore a more functional membership experience and created a stronger operational foundation for future growth.
Content and Strategic Guidance
The client publishes content regularly and has strong subject matter expertise internally. So, Thrive shifted into a more consultative role on content. The team provided best-practice guidance to help the client create its own content in a way that aligned with SEO goals. This approach allowed the client to maintain content output while supporting the broader effort to improve search visibility and site performance.
Biggest Wins
Two of the most important wins in this engagement came from restoring event tracking and fixing the client’s membership flow. With event tracking back in place, the client can now measure how many users complete monthly and yearly subscription purchases, giving the team clearer visibility into meaningful conversion activity.
Resolving the membership flow was equally important, as it helped ensure users were routed to the correct content and improved the overall subscriber experience.
The Next Steps
With the core systems working more reliably, the next phase will focus on building longer-term stability and support. The client is considering ongoing SEO services, web hosting and web maintenance to enable more proactive site management. Additional work may also include refining Mailchimp audience segments to strengthen communication and support future subscription growth.
