An esteemed manufacturer and supplier of Ketone and Glucose monitoring meters and strips needed Thrive’s help to reduce its advertising cost of sales (ACOS), build a strong brand and increase repeat customers.
Thrive’s Amazon marketing experts performed a detailed account audit and competitor analysis to create a strategy that would improve the client’s Amazon performance and drive more sales.
Units sold before Thrive took over its Amazon marketing were only 701. Since partnering with Thrive, the client has generated about a 3X increase in ad sales and units sold are consistently above 1,400 – double the units at the start of the engagement in October 2022.

Thrive’s key objectives were to help the client capture more market share by 1) selling more products to get more repeat customers, 2) acquiring customers from other blood ketone strips brands and 3) attracting New-to-Brand (NTB) customers from the urine ketone strips brands.
Our team’s targeted approach to Amazon marketing generated impressive results:
Key Metric: ACOS
The client’s ACOS at the start of the engagement in September 2022 was 26%. Through our efforts, we consistently maintained its ACOS under 20%.
Key Metric: Units Sold
Units sold for October 2022 were only 801. Since Thrive took over the client’s Amazon marketing campaign, the company has nearly doubled the units sold, consistently selling more than 1,400 units month-over-month.
Key Metric: Sales Generated from Ads
Sales generated from ads also significantly increased from $16,866 in October 2022 to $32,312 in May 2023 – a whopping 192% increase in only eight months.
The Execution
Thrive tapped into the client’s advertising capabilities to reach a larger consumer base and improve its return on investment (ROI).
Our strategies involved:
- Comprehensive Amazon account audit and competitor analysis.
- Separating the bottom-of-the-funnel and top-of-the-funnel customers.
- Creating budget and goals for Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brand and Sponsored Display.
- Building NTB customers by targeting product categories like urine ketone strips, which are a cheaper but less reliable testing solution.
