Qualifications:
The Paid Media Director (PMD) position is a strategy and channel building role, accountable for all aspects of client media planning, delivery and management. The candidate should have maturity, business savvy and the experience to be able to evaluate solutions across all paid media channels, and be able to construct a story that clients buy into to help us drive their business.
The PMD role will lead the Thrive Paid Media team, heading up a client delivery department and reporting to the VP of Operations. Ultimately, the PMD is accountable for all work produced by their department.
The PMD role is focused on 3 functional areas:
- Management of the department
- Acting in an advisory capacity to clients
- Media strategy lead for new and existing clients
Responsibilities:
HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Lead the omni-channel strategy for a set of clients to deliver on client KPIs and help us grow their business alongside our own.
- Increase the revenue of existing clients through media performance and introduction of new products and services.
- Ensure that the overall client strategy aligns with their KPIs.
- Build channel strategies and tactics into the holistic plan.
- Monitor campaigns for performance, ensuring campaigns are pacing accordingly, managing spend, troubleshooting campaigns, creating insights about performance, making updates accordingly, and flagging potential issues.
- Ensure campaign performance is of the highest standard, managing ongoing measurement against client KPI’s, business objectives, and reporting on performance.
- Ensure strategy, approach, and direction meets (or exceeds) client expectations for performance and quality of work.
- Create and present client-facing campaign reporting: pacing reports, campaign build, ad-hoc analysis, and high-touch optimizations to ensure relevant metrics and insights are shown and make recommendations by condensing or strengthening key insights from campaign reports to optimize performance.
- Direct resources to plan, set up, monitor, and optimize all paid digital channels including Paid Search, Paid Shopping, Paid Social, Display and Video; platforms utilized include Google Ads, Google Marketing Platform, Microsoft Ads, Meta etc.
- QA all Media delivery work from teams to ensure client satisfaction.
- Work with Paid Search and Social Directors to bring market-leading strategies and tactics to life.
- Attend meetings with clients online, supported by the client services and sales teams, in order to translate business requirements and considerations of clients into actionable steps for the agency.
- Interpret performance reports to craft meaningful stories and insights for clients.
- Monitor latest trends in digital advertising to improve campaign performance and provide recommendations on how clients can best leverage new tools and services
- Participate in new business proposals and presentations.
- Manage the profitability of assigned book of clients.
- Create upsell opportunities with clients for tech and creative.
- Be accountable for the leadership and mentorship of teams, but also be a leader to the paid media team as a whole.
Desired Skills:
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
- Strong background building and optimizing paid digital campaigns.
- A minimum of six years experience in digital marketing and/or related fields.
- Self-starter with a strong ability to embrace an entrepreneurial spirit within the context of an evolving environment; someone who can speak up and implement improved process and practice proactively.
- Deep understanding of attribution and attribution reporting and analysis.
- Experience developing, testing, and managing scalable ad campaigns.
- Hands-on paid social experience in Facebook/Instagram and Google Ads.
- Familiarity with YouTube, TikTok, and Pinterest advertising.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience developing customized analytics reporting and knowledge of 3rd party tracking and ad serving technology.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the entire online marketing ecosystem.
- Client service background with strong oral communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate junior teammates,
- Strong aptitude for back end business growth and new business opportunities.
